Edited: I was concerned about a provision in the ProBoards Terms of Service, which gives ProBoards certain rights to the contents posted on boards hosted by them, and deleted the posts that would be most adversely affected by that provision. I've been advised by my in-house expert (aka my husband) that the provision is not as bad as I thought it was. Still, I think that for now it would be best if I keep the "Exerpts, Blurbs, and Teasers," "Story Workshop," and "Hmmm" areas closed, until I'm certain that those who post retain their rights to those postings. Poorly-written ToS for the fail. ETA: Upon further review and consideration, I've decided to restore the "Exerpts, Blurbs, and Teasers," "Story Workshop," and "Hmm..." areas of the forum, with the warning that ProBoards reserves the right to use any user-generated or posted content for advertising or publicity purposes. So keep this in mind before you post, especially if the exerpt is from something that you intend to try to get commercially published.
