I currently have several fanfictions based on LEGO sets on hold while I work on the Twin Kcors and a few stories including:
{Currently Unnamed}- A story based off of a dream I had. The main character is a boy, but most of the details have yet to be worked out. That would be why it's waiting.
"Mirror Jumpers"- Story about a pair of people who are hired to travel through portals. Started it, wasn't happy with it, lost it.
"ATADS"- My first semi-serious story, and it was about Aliens invading. I sort of finished it, but I'm not happy with the ending. I'll get back to it at some point.

Which Lego sets? (We have very many Legos at our house ) Are the Twin Kcors from Time Twist, or is that something else? It's kind of comforting to have a list of stories you want to get to but can't yet. For a while I completely ran out of stories, and that wasn't fun. The place in my brain where the stories are was completely shut down. National Novel Writing Month got me jump-started again.

Twin Kcors, Time Twist, The Traveler and a few other things are all connected. I will explain in a topic in the work-in progress area. I recently set aside a fanfiction story based on the Rock Raiders LEGO sets and several of the subthemes of the 'Space' theme from brickset.com/browse/themes/?theme=Space&year=1987 <Those sets onward. Rock Raiders had a computer game, so I have a story to work off of, but with the Space stuff there isn't any story aside from "These guys are the good guys, they're the bad guys, and these little guys are just the civilians."

ooh, that sounds cool, that they're all connected. can't wait to find out more! We don't have any of the Rock Raiders, but I saw them in the catalog. Cool. And the space ones leave you pretty much free to make up whatever you want

Yeah the space ones do. I found a way to connect all the space ones together and have it connected to Rock Raiders.

I'm begrudgingly putting "Lomere" on the back burner and pulling the vampire novel forward. ("Immortal Perfection")
Lomere is the one which I truly believe I can get published, but I'm stuck. I have to write a huge scene involving and epic war. No matter how much I research battle formatios for land and sky, as soon as I try to put it to "paper", it goes POOF! My partner is a retired chief in the navy and was in battalion nearly her entire career, so shes going to help....... But she is in her senior year of her bachelors degree in criminal justice.... and then rolls directly into her Master's degree program in August. So she's not going to have a lot of time to help until she is done. ::sigh::
BUT, the vampire story is really awesome too so I will enjoy writing that. (can't post that publicly here since it is kind of adult oriented and has soe adult scenes in it.) But I can tell you about it and any frustrations or exciting things come along!

plasticat: your storyline (on the works in progress) sounds really cool - it's really creative how you took the different things and put them together for a long cohesive story arc. griffonwriter: sometimes you just have to write the story that's demanding to be written. and getting some more writing practice before tackling the story you want to publish is always a good idea. You can post a link to the vampire story here (get a blog or free site somewhere to post it), just make sure to rate the link

I'm not sure I want to post a work in progress on a public blog. (lots of plagerizors out there!)
If I wasn't hoping to get published some day, I wouldn't hesitate. Is there a way to keep it completely private unless I give special permission?

there are ways to password-protect blogs.
in general, what i've heard is that if it's something you intend to try to publish, you shouldn't post more than a few exerpts online. something about that messes up the first-publication rights that publishers want.
for things you don't intend to publish, i wouldn't worry about it. there's so much fiction online (tons and tons and tons) that the chances are pretty small that someone would glom on to yours to plagiarize, and if they try to get it published i think the publisher would check and find out. it's easy to google a phrase from a piece of writing and see if it turns up on the web anywhere.

Can you password protect on the wordpress blogs? If so, I think I'll make it a point to learn how!

Can you password protect on the wordpress blogs? If so, I think I'll make it a point to learn how! I don't know about any of them specifically; I just know that it's possible. I use regular web pages (from Angelfire) and I think there's a way to password-protect those too. But I don't worry about it. I don't plan to publish (if you do post online, publishers want it to be something password protected so only a few people are able to see it) and if someone's desperate enough to steal my writing, well... i don't think anyone would be THAT desperate, LOL

A couple others:
{Unnamed}- I think this is more of an adventure story. I know I'm going to have to do A LOT of "research" (by research I mean googling) a lot of things (Things such as Atlantis, the Bermuda Triangle, Crystal Skulls, the two creatures I am obsessed with, Mothman and the Loch Ness Monster, and lots of other stuff). Like "Indiana Jones" meets "Atlantis" meets "Signs." It may not fit into my usual Sci-Fi category, but I have the first name of the main character, and I like the idea.
{Unnamed}- I call this one "Bionic," solely because I like the word. This is another one that sort of leaves my usual Sci-Fi, and it's also a combination of a few ideas. Basically it sums up to: A computer virus wipes out most of the worlds population, leaving a "mad scientist" to use his invention thing to create a new "reality". Kinda Sci-Fi up until the magic and stuff that comes from his new reality. There's also dragons, strictly because they're awesome.
